Quite often, bank robbers are heavily armed with firearms that surpass those issued in the police armoury in performance, making short work of even Heavy Gear armour. In the event of a bank robbery, the following Precautions must be taken when responding
Thanks to the bank's automated alarm system, the main area is instantly sealed off as soon as a robbery is triggered, effectively trapping the suspects and limiting their escape routes. Because of this, it is crucial to secure the surrounding areas, contain the suspects within the bank, and prevent any public interference during the situation.
Once the alarm goes off, there are only 3 ways the bank robbers can escape. This includes the Bank fire exit, Regal's sewer exit, and finally the sewer exit to STALBURG (Seen below)
It is important to have an officer situated at each exit, preferably 1 TFU officer holding each exit if possible. Preventing the robbers from making a quiet escape via the sewer system.
In addition to containing the suspects inside the bank, it's crucial to prevent members of the public from interfering with the situation, as they may endanger themselves and create significant distractions to officers on the scene. Where possible, a secure perimeter should be established around the bank to maintain control and ensure safety.
Examples of where perimeters can be created are in the Bank parking lot, the Regals parking lot, and STALBURG Way.
As soon as you hear the 211A bank robbery call, the first and most important thing to do is to check your police computer and identify how many potential suspects are at large. The number of how many suspects involved can influence your course of action when deciding how you want to approach the bank robbery.
Marksmen should arm themselves with a sniper rifle such as an L115A3 or M24 and take a position at a longer range. Not only will this provide cover for your fellow officers, but depending on where you are situated, you can give crucial information from long range.
If there are dispatches on, have them check the cameras inside the bank. This gives you a massive upper hand over the suspects as they can give you exact locations and other vital information
Note: It is important to communicate effectively with your fellow officers with the information you have gathered to help keep everyone in sync.
With all the information gathered, it is important to create an effective plan to increase your chances of coming out of the bank robbery successfully.
Due to the bank's security system, the bank robbers are forced to be flushed out of the 3 exits explained earlier. This means that you can take a defensive approach and wait for the robbers to encounter you instead of pushing them.
This strategy is particularly effective when dealing with a large group of bank robbers. The longer they’re contained, the more impatient and reckless they become—often leading them to make the first move. Once a few suspects are neutralised, you can begin to shift toward an offensive stance and initiate a coordinated assault.
The ideal way to enter the bank during a bank robbery would be to initiate an assault at the fire exit. As a TFU officer, you should be using your utility to your advantage to assist you in entering the building.
One way you can do this is by using a flashbang to help blind and disorientate suspects who are holding close angles, allowing you to catch them by surprise.
Once entry to the bank has been secured, you should begin advancing toward the vault room to gain further ground and establish control over the area.
If the suspects attempt to escape through the sewer system, you can use this to your advantage by advancing through the sewers yourself, allowing you to push them back toward the vault room and regain control.
When coordinated with officers advancing on the other exits of the bank, this tactic allows you to effectively surround the suspects, leaving them with no route of escape.
