Changes to TFU Handbook - SEPTEMBER 2025 - RTFO and Policy Updates
Tactical Firearms Officers in light gear might share the same armour level as a patrol officer, but grant the following benefits:
Access to two C2 Breaching charges.
Access to a single M84 Stun grenade.
Access to Sub Machine Guns (UMP45, MP5A4), and Rifles (M16A4, M24A1 Sniper rifle).
Access to a Mossberg 590A1 pump-action shotgun.
Access to the Range Rover 2012.
Tactical Firearms Officers in heavy gear have more armour than normal patrol officers and also have the following benefits:
Access to three C2 Breaching charges.
Access to two M84 Stun grenades (three if TFIC).
Access to the whole weapon arsenal, including high-calibre sniper rifles as the L115A3
Access to both the Range Rover 2012 and the Brute
Heavy Tactical Firearms Officers, unlike their light gear counterparts, are almost solely a reactionary or pre-planned deployment force. Heavy Tactical Firearms Gear is only expected to be deployed to incidents where they are likely to be needed, and should never be used to patrol unless authorised by a Tactical Firearms Command member OR a supervisor ranked Major or higher.
Hostage Situations
Active shootouts where armed suspects are confirmed
Active burglar alarms, such as house alarms or a 2-11A notification (bank robbery)
In heavy gear, it is your discretion whether deploying in heavy gear is sensible and should be used only if necessary.
