Changes to TFU Handbook - SEPTEMBER 2025 - RTFO and Policy Updates
The Range Rover is a vehicle that helps Tactical Firearms Officers patrol and respond to situations quickly to ensure a faster-armed response to firearms incidents.
When in gear, all Tactical Firearms Officers have access to the Range Rover in which has the following benefits:
Fast ( > 70MPH max speed)
Medium capacity - 5 Seats (Can transport 3 suspects at once)
Can provide good cover during shootouts
Has the M24A1 marksmanship rifle in the trunk
The BearCat serves as a major advantage as a safe method of deploying TFOs and officers into high-risk situations.
Only heavy gear Tactical Firearms Officers can deploy the BearCat in which has the following benefits:
Bulletproof (Can sustain a lot of damage from bullets and explosives while keeping occupants inside safe)
High Capacity - 8 seats (Can transport 6 suspects)
Mobile armoury (Accessible by TFOs, allowing them to resupply, change weapons and gear up/down)
Extremely good cover due to its size
It is important to note that you should be using the BearCat to the best of your ability and appropriately to each situation that requires it. When using the BearCat, please consider:
Vehicle placement - The BearCat must be accessible at all times and shouldn't be placed in unfavourable positions that render its functionality useless.
Vehicle armour—The BearCat is bulletproof but not invincible. Do not allow the van to sustain damage unless necessary, and try not to remain stationary for long inside it. The BearCat does require a lot of damage to be disabled, so if you are being gunpointed by someone to get out, you can safely drive away without the threat of being injured and relocate to a better position.
Vehicle deployment - The BearCat should only be deployed to situations in which heavy deployment is necessary and should never be used to go on patrol.
