The M4A1 is a flagship firearm in the Tactical Firearms Unit, Offering a high rate of fire, relatively controllable recoil, and accuracy. Whilst the weapon excels in close range combat, Using controlled bursts, The weapon can neutralise threats with high accuracy at longer ranges.
Originally designed to replace the M16 in Combat roles of the US military, it has risen in popularity amongst Police forces too. Based off of the revered AR15 platform, The M4A1 is offered with a fully automatic fire mode.
Fed from 30 round STANAG magazines, The M4A1 shares magazines with most other PD Assault rifles of its caliber, Meaning putting spare magazines in trunks can benefit several officers despite having different rifles.
Very accurate when tap fired, and used on semi automatic. With full auto firemode, the gun also maintains relative accuracy, meaning it can be used as a marksmans rifle in a pinch.
Versatile and offers all fields covered.
Up close in CQB situations, the automatic Rate of fire can get more shots off than many suspect weapons, increasing odds of succeeding in exchanged fire.
Not as Controllable as other rifles on Full automatic mode.
Requires a set skillset to use most effectively, such as good recoil control and reaction time to know when to stop shooting to conserve ammo.
Close range rate of fire increases odds of a suspect fatality with good overshoot. This extends to when vehicles are shot.
